Are you still able to ping IP addresses when you set your pc to the static IP address? What I mean by this is can you access xx.xx.xx.xx when set up with a static IP address even if you can't access google.com?

It would probably speed things up greatly if we could contact you to troubleshoot this issue. Would you be able to provide a phone number at which you can be reached and the time of day that would normally suit you to receive a call?

Its down again right now, mail.google.com & google.com ping on both was fine, no connection, swapped to dynamic IP all is fine.

I was promised a resolution to my fixed IP issue, details below. Someone was due to call me back each day at 3pm, this didn't happen once.

At the moment I have a number of sites that I can't used my fixed IP for, including google search. Some days I can't use the fixed IP for the entire day.

So, I swap from fixed to dynamic, a bit of a pain.

Can we resolve this issue please.

Also, having connection issues on both fixed and dynamic at the mo, ping & jitter are a bit poor for the last week or so.

I work from home, so need a fixed IP to get through the firewall (UK). My setup here is that I have a wireless router with the fixed IP details in, which works fine other than the items below.
If I plug in directly to the PC (which I dont like doing, no firewall), it gets a dynamic IP.

About a month ago there were a number of sites that started to fail, Google for example. Others include:

Mike Slocombe, urban75 design, award winning, London based internet/intranet/web design, multimedia, usability agency and web consultancy (failing at the moment)
boards.ie - Now Ye're Talkin'

to name but a few.

My issue is that I have to have a fixed IP for work, so I am constantly swapping from fixed to dynamic IP, quite painful, especially since if I forget I can't receive mails.

Secondly, my VOIP has been more than flakey for the last week or so, high jitter, high pings, regardless of IP.

6 days and not a word from you, I work from home so I am nearly always in during the day. I can't even update my own server without flicking to dynamic IP (www.xxx.com). I'm off on hols for 3 weeks from tomorrow, I really hope this will be resolved by then.
