I am in Broadway and the nearest arial is in Rosslare so I am about 3kilometers away. I sometime live in Belgium out in the sticks and we have had high speed broadband for 10 years or more, using an ADSL line. At first it was connected via the USB but over the past 5 years we have had a wireless router and this is realy fast I checked it a couple weeks ago and I was getting over 3meg download with about 600kb upload. Thats using the Blacknight speed check. I dowloaded a couple of films from Sky which took a couple of hours while I was working on the PC. I tried to download a film here and it took 24 hours with several breaks in the connection. Were I have to turn off the modem and reconnect. |
