Default DSL speeds are one thing getting any band slow or fast is another

DSL speeds are one thing getting any band slow or fast is another

unltimatly Eicom is the driving force in the industry and if it choses as it has done for the last few years to treat wannbe broadbanders with contempt and what you live in stickville and you want broad band go... attidude and so the competitors only have to be a tad better and get a slice of the cake
The last few years have seen the cake grow slowly if at all and the division of that cake into peices in the feeding frenzy of the carcass of Eicom as privatization came about

The main driving force or force major of the TELECOMS can dictate the speeds and the growth in that cake and increase the abilty of the country as a whole to become better for work and living standards similar to road network or ESB etc
We in the last few years have been lumbered with a dead duck Eicom and the new takeover could hardly be worse than what existed before it short of the sale dosnt happen

A very long term Telecom player will probably replace the copper network with fibe optics to give speeds of 10 megs to 20 megs easy peasy for fibre optics and a short term assest stripper will ride the rotten copper wire network with 1 meg to 4 meg speeds on a good day with no rain etc

we wait and hope and pray as lots of jobs now and in Irelands future are riding on this sale similar to if they sold ESB
