I think they are allowed to transmit up to 30km taking in to account of the interference zone but we are 42Km from Knockanure, the base station in north Kerry. I have looked at the licence rules and it clearly states that the maximum is 15Km. I will have to get clarification from Comreg tomorrow. |
Hi Chaperon
Remind me, do you have the permanet service? Whats the distance got to do with the ESB power outage. I have tested both
IBB and Permanet,
IBB never works properly, they promised a 3MB synchronous link, but all I have ever got from them is 1MB UP 3MB down, with high latency. In regards to the COMREG, we as a user group would be better hassling them about quality of service, service description and service delivery, as most of the Wireless ISPs in this country are operating on a best endeavour basis, even on their business class accounts. Still I did now know that Knockanure was 42KM from Castlegregory, is that as an African Sparrow or European Sparrow flys?
