It isnt hard to find a sevice provider thats better on prices than Eircom with faster connection speeds also with better contention ratios...when you do change internet service providers thats when problems might start...the problem i had is the price Eircom was charging at the time for an ISDN connection as there was no broadband in my area at the time, so i went looking for a better deal that i found with Smart.. then another problem started...phone line got really bad that resulted in little or no connection to the internet let alone phone calls..so i rang smart telecom and they said they would fix the problem..this went on for weeks ,now no fault of smart i then learned that smart couldnt fix the phone line as it was still an eircom line so only they could fix the problem ..still being billed for a non existant line because nobody seemed to know what was going on and who was to fix the fault i had no choice but to change back to eircom and guess what.. PROBLEM SORTED... within 2 days 2eircom vans arrived sorted the problem in the exchange and left.. still left with a big bill for a service that i never got i then got the phone line taken away went with a little known wireless provider at the time named Torque internet and havent looked back since.. so long as you dont use P2P networks they are great as they have them blocked..
