I've noticed other posts relating to the abismal performance of the Eircom Home Starter Plus subscription from Eircom, and have been experiencing this myself over the past while.
It started about 3 weeks ago, where the performance was reasonably OK, and has gradually got worse. I'm now getting download speeds of 7.31k (according to
http://home.eircom.net/speedtest) and upload speeds of 149.12k (according to
http://www.abeltronica.com/velocimetro) ....
This is unacceptable for a paid service, I'd be better off on ISDN than having to struggle using this service ....
I have been using then Netopia provided by Eircom, and changed to a NetGear modem for testing, but get the same results ....
Has anybody had any success getting in touch with Eircom in relation to this problem?
