IMO it's more like an example of comparing a city with 7.5 million people to a country with 4 million.

I've just come back from Oz where the best plan I could get and I was on was 1.5Mb down / 256Kb (60GB cap) up for about €50. Here I'm on 2Mb down / up with no cap for about the same price. Here I've got contentation ratio crap to worry about but it hasn't affected me so far.

For the record I think it's more do to with Eircom being privatised. They're just in it to make money the easiest way they can, you can see this with the amount of times they've changed owners. Build up the value and sell it on. Why should they have long term expensive investment when that's the plan.

And the fact that Comreg don't seem to have any power.
