Default bandwidth caps

I'm with clearwire (till the end of the month)and pay 40 euro a month for a one meg signal witha ten Gb cap on my traffic , so your not too badly off if you look at it that way.
I was on the phone to them before on a related matter and was told the ten Gigabyte cap was a total of upload and download traffic.
Upon further investigation i was told that this was not the case and that the cap was on download only ,but that i had to watch my upload traffic as it messed up their system having people upload any real quantity on their "magic" modem , so i was told to leech as much as possible when using a file sharing client - sad but true !
I'm looking at ntl for my new connection....
