Ive been suffering the same problem myself for close to 4 months now.Ive called Broadband support went through the usual crap have you turned on your Modem please reset your modem ETC all to no avail.the DSL light flashes then the connection drops for roughly 1 to 2 minutes comes back on then drops again this cycle will continue for nearly 20 minutes or so and needless to say is extremely annoying. Ive had an Engineer call to my home to check the line which was fine and twenty minutes after i received a call from Broadband support telling me that the problem was solved ,which could not be further from the truth because my Modem light was red and the DSL light was out. When i told the Nigerian Gentleman from Broadband that the problem was not in fact fixed he suggested that maybe my line was unable to run 2 meg (ran it perfectly for the past four years) and maybe my line should be dropped to 1 Meg, on hearing this ridiculous advice i expressly informed said individual not to drop my line to 1 Meg as the Engineer found no fault on my line, Guess what happened next, thats right the very next day i checked my line and hey Pesto they went ahead and dropped the line to 1 MEG after i expressly forbid them to do so.So after a lot of Phone calls to broadband support i simply gave up and Decided to call customer complaints.

For the past 2 months now Customer complaints have gotten 2 more Engineers to check my line each time the line comes up as good. Then i receive call after call telling that the problem has been solved when in in fact it simply hasn'tAnd when the line is stable the speed is almost pre Dial up. Customer complaints rang again yesterday to state that the problem lies somewhere between my Exchange (Tuam) and the main server in Dublin, this is after telling me on numerous occasions that the problem i was experiencing was solved they have upgraded my line now to 2 Meg but the problem still persists Ive just ran a speed check and the results where Download 726kbps and upload 160kbps and thats a 2 Meg line:mad.:

My apologies for my somewhat disjointed post but to say that I'm not a happy Eircom customer right now would not be an understatement.
