Alot of the buzz surrounding (and presumably why people get sucked in) to these mobile broadband offerings is because they either don't have any other option. From the people I've spoken to since before getting broadband, with nova as it happens, I was almost convinced to sign up to the 3 mobile offering. 3.6mbit/sec, great! Err, maybe not. That's 'up to' 3.6mbit, presumably if you're sitting on or living next to a mast.

I've heard that the drop in speed is considerable and quite sudden once you get any kind of distance from a mast, leading me to believe that the much touted nationwide (or almost) HSPDA isn't as wonderful as it could be.

Yes there are cheaper options than DSL or Wireless, but ultimately you get what you pay for. I'd rather know I have consistent 1mbit upload than have to say a nightly novena for decent upload speed.

Welcome back Dave; You do indeed have some great people working there now. Only last night I emailed support about a problem I was having, not really expecting to get a reply until Wednesday / Thursday, as per the usual situation with most ISP's. Got my reply within 15 mins (and that was at nearly 1am). Kudos.
