Default 3 Ireland - Can't Send Email ? --- Service Withdrawn!!!

For the last week or two I've noticed that outlook can not send email via SMTP while connected to 3, I've had to plug in the old dial up to send mail.
So today i got through to the tech support in Scotland...UNBELIEVABLE they told me that the SMTP server had being piggy backing on the pop server and over loading it so they have just taken it away. So i asked when it would be replaced or when there would be a fix ...the answer was that there was no plan to replace it or for a fix...that it could be next week or next month or 6 months time...and that what i should do as an alternate was to log-on to my webmail instead. Well sorry but i use outlook for my email calender, contacts, and for sending graphic signatures in mail. I need this basic function of broadband.
I'm guessing a lot of other data modem users have the same problem, this is outrageous, thinking they can sell a "broadband" service which can not carry out the most basic email functions. BTW apparently the issue is not affecting data cards only data modems,(for the moment anyway).
Anyway if you check your mail using outlook, Thunderbird, or another client, you probably are in for a headache for the next while sending mail....
