If I'm paying for 5mbps then I expect no less than 4.5. constant speeds. not more like 3mbps and that's being good to Digiweb. I have no doubts that it will improve some day. But for me that's it with Digiweb Tried and tested and stuck with it for as long as I could. As long as providers advertise up to, well then that is a licence to offer 1mbps and say it's "contention" that, "we advertise up to". Contention is Ireland's broadband providers favourite word!!! I think it's high time the wast of time com reg step in and stop the broadband rip off!!!
I can agree with you about contention as favorite word here in Ireland. As you can probably see (I know my english is not great) I'm not Irish what makes me even more unsatisfied with broadband here then you can imagine.

The only thing which I said about Digiweb in Carlow is that there are people really working on this issue and you can already see the difference. It's only beginning.

As I can see while googling you have not too many options there in Carlow, so you can choose "sh*** local provider" or wait until Digiweb will resolve their problem there.

Ahh.. you can choose IBB (are they in Carlow??), but even if it works fine now will not be like that forever. and if your IBB goes crap you can only dream that someone will take care of it.
