Default Innaccurate Usage Readings

i am living in limerick and i have been with BT for about 3 years on the 3mb package with download limits of 30gb. no real complaints concerning speed but what is realing bugging me is bt usage readings, it constantly fails to update and is guarranteed to stop updating 3 or 4 days before the end of the month. it seems to be wildly innaccurate (in bts favour of course). i have installed some third party software to check this and my suspisions have proven correct. so much so that this mornings reading for the first day of the month is a whopping 900mbs to their favour. tech support tries to blame everyone but themselves, am i wireless etc (no i'm not) and noone else is using it.
can anyone suggest an alternative isp in limerick city (caherdavin exchange) must be at least 30gb

Hi expatoz

Like yourself I have been with BT on the 3Mbps package for about 3 years now.

I know there has been a problem for the last couple of weeks with the usage readings not updating but apart from this I have never experienced this issue before.

I do know that the usage readings are always 24 hours behind. I think this is because BT resets your account once every 24 hours and the usage reading is for the previous period not including the current 24 hours period.

However, unless you are exceeding the 30GB DL limit and BT are charging you for the excess data transfer then I don't see what your problem is if there are no speed issues. You may not get the same service if you change.

its only just become apparent to me that the readings are incorrect, if i d/l 1gb and BT says its 2gb, iwill go over my allowance according to them in 15 days. i have a warning about this already on the first day of the month. The reading according the terms of conratct are up till midnight the night before, hence the calculation on the second day of the period. i just wondering how long this has been going on? i started checking with dedicated software last week and BTs reading has been higher on every day that it updated. in the past if i got a message to say i would be over in so many days i would lay off and wait. i will check this month with 30gigs and see what they claim
