Trying to get broadband in Sligo

I'm living in outskirts of Sligo at Aughamore Near, close to the Holy Well. I'm trying to find what broadband options are available. I tried fastcom, their technician called out but was unable to get a line of sight.
Right now I don't have a land line, using my neighbours phone number I checked to see if I could get eircom broadband in the area - the web site says "may be suitable; subject to confirmation". Naturally I don't want to pay a fee for installing a landline and then find it's not broadband capable.
I check vodafone's 3G maps and it seems I'm just outside the 3G coverage area.

Has anyone any experience getting broadband in this area?

In the North-West we are a forgotton nation. Although there are providers of Broadband via digital service, it is not too reliable and costs more or less the same as the land line version which I use and have not had too many difficulties with. In the Cliffoney, Grange area Digiweb is available but is prone to regular down time. Best of luck with what ever you decide to choose but do remember we are in the forgotton NORTHWEST!!!

A colleague of mine has wireless broadband in the Sligo area from a company called Lastmile. I'm not sure of their coverage bu they may be worth checking out. My colleague is quite happy with their service level.

Might be worth trying your neighbours phone no with smart Smart Telecom

There adsl2 gives a longer reach than traditional ADSL and I use them myself in Sligo and they have a great broadband package.

They also ahave a support forum and it might be worth pasting there.

Also 3 might have coverage there.
