Exclamation newbie: Good QoS but very slow BB

Speed test says 99%:) on QoS but the connection seems to me
to be v. slow.:o The only figures that are out of whack are the
TCP wait times, over 1000ms. I've read a good few posts on the board here
and it seems to me that my connection is "Throttled".

My questions are, how do I relieve this throttling?
    Can I do it?
    Can Eircom do it?
Does the regulator need to know?

Thanks in advance for any and all help:)

OK, so I don't have a problem compared to other
people but I'm still not happy with my connection
    quality. :(

Time to get on to Eircom to see where the packets,
    > 10% of them, are going to and find out about the
    "jitter"

    Hi

Before you do call Eircom carry out a speedtest using Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and see what result it gives you. Unfortunately most ISP's claim when you call them that this gives a more accurate reading than the one used on this site but I disagree. Also try to download something and check the transfer rate. You can get your true download speed by multiplying this by 8.

I'll do all that before i get in touch with the wonderful Eircom

I'd have got back to the thread if there's any improvement anyway. seem's like my
dropped upward packets are a small thing but if i can get it fixed it could help others

    Post Ran Speedtest.net checker

...and the results are here . I hope that
    link works.

There is a lot of variability in the ping trip time. I also tested the Eircom
server in Sligo even though it is not the one I'm connected to? It would
appear to be quicker to ping but doesn't have great capacity!

    Any ideas?

    P.
