Default [Req] Broadband Provider Options Ballaghadereen, Co Roscommon

Hi All,

A friend has asked me to investigate the Broadband provider options for his rural dwelling in Ballaghadereen, Co Roscommon.

As far as I can tell, his local telephone line is not upgraded to broadband and the area is very poor for mobile reception.

Unless someone knows something that I don’t, I would think that he can only get broadband through air waves. Can anyone recommend providers in the region who may be able to help him out. (Feel free to PM)

Thanks In Advance for all Responses.

Smile Ballaghadereen Broadband Situation

Hi,

You could try 'Computers 4U' in the town and ask what do they know of the local Broadband situation. If they can't help, I guess you will have to try either O2, Vodafone or 3 Wireless Broadband.

I have both O2 Wireless Broadband and eircom Broadband. I am one mile from Tulsk. The O2 goes up and down more often than my mood! It ranges from useless to quite reasonable, and it seems to fluctuate from moment to moment. The eircom so-called '7MB Home Advanced' is somewhat more reliable, but really not very impressive at all. I am still deciding whether I will keep the eircom or not...

Hope this helps!
