Is Digiweb slowing down in CARLOW and in particular TINRYLAND ? My 3mb/s package is down to a trickle recently.Does anyone know why? I have perfect line of sight from aerial to base station.
Is ICE Broadband very poor in Tullow,County Carlow? I am told that you cant even view a clip from YOU TUBE !!!

Angry Ice Broadband in Carlow

(I don't know in Tullow, but in Carlow the service is crap. I was in contact with Customer Service Manager,Grainne Duffy, in the last 3 (THREE!!!) months, who was promissing me every two weeks the service will be back on normal, but.... The problem in Carlow is with one or two substations (even the tehnician who called to my house on 1st of March told me that)what should be replaced. They keep on promissing that, but, probably they do not have enough money for that.Because I was very ferm, I didn't have to pay for the last 3 months, but my next term to pay will be on 14th of april, and the problem still not fixed. At the moment,I'm getting speeds of 21kbps (!!!!!!).Of course, I've saved all the tests in my PC as proof, because Grainne told me on the phone last time that if I want to cancell the service, they will charge me disconnection fee ( even they are not able to provide a decent service for Carlow area!).My reply to that was "see you in court than, because I will not pay a cent". She said " we don't have to go that far". At the moment, they say they are waiting planning permission to roll out a optic cable to fix the problem, and they have no ideea when that will gonna happend. Untill than, you (me) HAVE to pay monthly fee for 19-21kbps speed, which I had enuogh! I am looking for other IP,to see what is on the market, 'couse Ice Broadband is s**t.My problems started on 19th of december 2007, and untill that date, they were great, but, the wonder didn't last too long. Now, I have to take a decision, because I have enuogh! Is anybody else experiences same problems? What did you do? Waiting for reply! Untill than, STAY AWAY FROM ICE BROADBAND IN CARLOW!!!!!!!

Let me tell you what is wrong in carlow. Ice, Digiweb, Clearwire and Irish Broadband all have feeds coming from carlow town out to Rossmore hill via several 5.8Ghz feeds. They are all competing for spectrum in this license exempt band. A friend of mine was going to put a base station up there but was unable to because of all the 5.8 interference. There was no available clear channels to use! Running an optic cable from Carlow to Rossmore would cost more than the company is worth...probably!
