Broadband Speed Limit;Shared Line My ISP tells me that because I'm on a shared line & 3kms from the local enabled exchange(Blarney,Co Cork) then the max 1Mb speed will fall in proportion to the no of users downloading-I rarely experience speeds approacing 1Mb-usually .2 or .3-its considerably slower of late-I'm not technically knowledgible enough to challenge what my ISP tells me.
Can anyone tell me if what I'm being told is broadly accurate or am I being told half truths? Is there any other info available or checks I could do to find out my true situation?
