ClearwireOffers a fixed wireless broadband solution

Get this: As soon as I really start bitching (won't go into detail), they responded to my first tech support submission that I put in about a month ago.
"Peer to Peer (P2P) applications treat your computer as both client and server meaning any information youdownload to your computer using a P2P application, is then available for upload. Once you have installed the application your computer can act as a server and information is continuously uploaded from it, through our network. This is in direct contravention to the Clearwire terms of service."
Oh really? How's that then... Read on...
"Section 10 of your terms of service state that you may not use the service or take any action that will result in excessive consumption or utilization of Clearwire's network resources. Such prohibited actions include but are not limited to: using the service to host a web server, continuously uploading or downloading streaming video or audio, or continuous FTP uploading or downloading."
They're liars basically. Their promotion is crap. They're like goddam drug dealers. Broadband 'speed' but not broadband service.
im on the 2 mb now, im with them 6 months and i was on 1 mb for 5 months since iv been with them iv had **** service iv posted my results, only ever got 500+ or -kb or 1.5mb, the last 2days i got 20-30kb and i have 9 gig left on my account.(problem fixed) they told me told for 2days. i rang them up and they told me iv got great service, lol, jokers. now i rang them to cancel it, and now im on the 3 week waitin list for digi web, getting the 3mb with 30 gig spead. ill be happy if i get 2-3mb because at the moment im paying 50euro a month for notting. so this works and sounds better. has any1 got digiweb in carlow area or kilkenny. as i want some info. they told me they wont be as **** as clearwire because they dont share and have a direct connection spead is this true? and can any1 answer this for me, atm clearewire want and are trying to get me to pay the disconnection fee @ 120euro and iv had **** service should i pay it, iv over 20 logged calls on my side but they said iv rang them only twice, they are liars. so im waiting for there call back about the disconnection fee. should i pay it, i have no contract with them, i signed nottin or received nottin not even a refference number, and they said they sent all my info to a clearwire email account registered to me,,,but i never got any email accounts from them, so there liers. any1 have this problem. please reply if so.

this looks at different bit torrent clients- it is important to have the proper version, encrypting traffic wasnt enabled in every release of the different clients
I know people using clearwire that this has worked for-good luck
At last ! My year is finally up with clearwire and ive sent the modem back. First
5 months was great, then in November last year things took a real nose-dive.
Ive learned my lesson and that lesson is:
Always read a contract before you sign it and know what you options are.
In this case I had no option but to keep paying for a bad service for a full year.
Goodbye clearwire! ... and good riddance.

im gona cancel mine in two weeks as iv arranged for digiweb to install broadband. 6 month contract. and im gona pay the 120euro with clearwire, they really are a crap service. customer service are tick no1 speaks english, or they dont listen or reply to calls or emails. i hope they read this as iv alot to say to them. im gona post there crap/rip off service on ever broadband site lol. and the irish broadband board. gona make them hang there heads in shame. might post it in the local paper too, look out for it in the nationalist of calow and kildare, i know the company and the writers. they'll be glad to write it.
I signed up for Clearwire Broadband in January, and I had to cancel it last week, I found the service terrible. I live in Rathmines Dublin 6. I was supposed to be receiving 2mb and the most I ever got was 1.1, and that was shockingly slow. When I signed up for it, the sales rep fed me with the same bullsh*t that the signal would improve ina week or so, however I figured out that this was complete crap, as the signal only got worse. Most of the time the signal was around 565kbps, an absolute joke for €29.95 a month. Then to add to my anger, they overcharged me on two seperate occassions and when I contacted them about it they were very standoffish and tried to blame it on me. The second time I was overcharged I rang them up four times and I have emailed them 6 times, and still I have not heard back about the situation , so that was the straw that broke the camels back, I had enough and sent back the modem and canceled my DD with them. My advice STAY AWAY FROM CLEARWIRE!!!
yea man, i have the same problem, i was getting 1mb for 4 months at the discount rate. never got the speed. got half a mb most of the time. was told it would get better in the future, never happened, then the said if i went to the 2mb it would improve my speed, never happened still getting half a mb,lol, my advise to any1 gettin wireless broadband, please wait and think about it for a while and read the contract a few times also look around for more than 1 provider. at the moment clearwire is ****, "irish broadband and digiweb have the wireless", i have not heard any bad reviews about irish broadband or digiweb in my area(and i hope not) so im gona wait out my clearwire 6th discounted month and switch to digiweb, iv already setup the date, so will keep u posted....,also bad news for me gona have to pay for the 120euro disconnection fee for clearwire even dough iv had 5 **** months of service. they do not listen to my complains, so stay well away.

I'm on the 2mb package, I've had a varied experience with clearwire. I decided to go with them because eircom wanted 150 for installation and then as u know the 24 euro for line rental and thats before i choose an isp. We don't have many alternatives to choose from and initially I was quite pleased with the service which I have been signed up to since the middle of may. Up until today everything has been OK, sometimes the gaming is a little laggy but most of the time it's fine. HOWEVER, since this weekend it has been really crap, I live in the harolds cross area of dublin and always get 5 lights on my modem, so the signal is fine, the issue is their backbone infrastructure: take a look at my broadband speeds below...

Those aren't doctored, Its like 1995 speeds all over again...its just terrible. Even with this in mind, I still don't regret choosing them too much, if I went with Eircom my phone line would have been installed about 10 weeks after I ordered. I did however receive a phone call from eircom about a week ago, it was regarding a complaint I made at the beginning of may...
, so that was the straw that broke the camels back, I had enough and sent back the modem and canceled my DD with them. My advice STAY AWAY FROM CLEARWIRE!!!
Hi Killer,
Good to see your making the change. Are you aware of the 120 euro
cancellation fee by the way? Id watch out for that.
My post above shows some pretty terrible download speeds. I phoned Clearwire and they said I had been capped and my connection speed had been restricted to 28K as I went over the 20gb download limit. Fair enough I thought, by how much I asked...100mb! It will be cleared in 2 days and i will receive a new monthly allocation in my next month and my speeds will be back to normal. The bad thing I found though is there is no means of seeing how much data you have used it, there is no user login section or anything like that. So the moral of the story is, at around the last 2 days of your monthly period (hehe) download all the things you always wanted to use up your cap.
I've had clearwire in Clonsilla......Hartstown to be more accurate, for only 3 weeks now, i have 3/4 lights on my modem but my service is crap. Downloads today are the worst they've been. (could it be that it was sunny and clear since i got it and today it's windy and rainy?....!).....anyways, rarely gotten anywhere near my 2MB downloads.....something like 30KB/S but the pings are deplorable. (35% loss with huge averages)....theyre currently 'looking into it' for me......just got out of a crap IBB contract too so i'm extra edgy!......no way i'm paying for this if it doesn't improve dramatically!
I live in sandycove and I've been on to them 4 times already..........
I have the 2m package and for the first week I was downloading at
80 to 130 kbs and now most of the time I can get over 200 kbs.
I got the plugins as well which in my opinion is a rip €65 and my connection
drops at nighttime?????? to below 100kbs downloads.I use Skype alot
and I have had the worst connection with Clearwire.... a 5 second delay
between when I talk and the other persons can hear me.I work online and
I need a good connection for skype but clearwire isn't doing it for me
and I use rapidshare to download files but clearwire ...well the rep said that
rapidshare is hosted on manyservers and the download speed can flucuate
but a difference of 150 kbs is a joke.
I will also be considering my options when six months is up with the 2m line
and I encourage everybody that any time you have a problem phone as well
as email and keep a log of calls and emails sent.
The dissconnection fee is not applicable if you don't receive the service you signed up for........
Hey why are you waiting 6 months before you do something?.....does anyone know what i'll have to deal with if i tell them it isnt working for me and i want it out?.....i refer to my message above as to why!!!....do i have a leg to stand on, its only been 3 weeks of chaos, theyve taken their 68 euros for a month and activation......?....thanx!......
I have the 2m line for 30.00 a month and when ntl get bb to my area
I will switch if this crap continues, why should I have to call every day to complain about my connection speeds.................
As for yourself pseudo_23 you will have to deal with Either English reps or
a foreigner not being racist but thats all I've gotten when I call,
Actually the guy who fixed my line the first time was from ghana and
he informed me that I was only receiving a 1m line when it should have been 2 and the first time I called a guy from mexico or somewhere who imo couldn't speak a word of english shut my connection down to dialup speed.
Is it too much to ask for to get a decent service for anything in this country of ours,I mean is it in the realms of possibilty that we could receive what we actually pay for,I know that when you purchase any product under government Leglisation they have to make sure it does what it says or you are entilted to a full refund and clearwire have been in business long enough
to fulfill its part,I fulfill mine when they debit my account every month.
Untill a time when I can get a service that does what they say I will call and call and log every detail,And then I will look into getting reimbursed for what I did not receive.
i had it 6 monthes, and got in digiweb tuesday, it is twice the speed and half the price.,, 3mb €34.99 a month not like the 2mb speed at €50 a month with clearwire,,,also i never had to pay a disconnection fee. im posting it back tuesday after i use up my bandwith.lol. also if u had problems with clearwire keep track of your calls and phone numbers so they can check them up.
I'm seriously considering moving to them,
My speed went from over 2m today to half ameg at 5;30
I will get a phone line connected and go to digiweb,I am so pissed with this crap connection and a poor service.
they never reply to phone calles or emails give false promises, i was promised for 6 months that they would fix my speed, and also they never rang me once in 6 months after all my complains, now today i posted there modem back freepost too, ill be saving money with digiweb and i get better customer support, they call me too, and reply to my emails about questions, now im on 3mb speed and 30gig bandwith and 2 free phone lines, i dont pay for calls unless i use them, there calls are cheaper than eircom, and free to other digiweb customers. also it takes about 2weeks to get the phone number, but it should take less as the tech told me. and a static ip address with the ratio to 25.1 meaning your sharing ur ip with 25 people, it takes 48hours for the static ip to kick in and u need to ring them back, bin clearwire and ibb, they junk, iv been with all 3 and digiweb the best, no cancellation fee with clearwire as long as u kept a record of ur phone calls to the support line.,, hey any1 on xbox live can friend me, im on it more now because im lag free, wooohoooo gamer tag boggiemanx website http://celticwarfare.net/forum bye
this is my speed now, and im sharing with 40 people in carlow, because i never rang back to get the static ip address, im using dynamic like you get on the 1mb package, i may ring them back, i recon it will be faster. lol
