Default Got Clearwire? Keep records of DL and UL speeds

To monitor your connection speed, you can use netmeter: -== NetMeter Homepage ==- - Downloads

In another thread I read that Clearwire has told a customer that tests from irishisptest are unreliable. I don't know the background to this.
But if in doubt, I advise you to use netmeter instead.
It loads on startup and stays running in the task bar. I have been using it for a few months and highly recommend it.
Handy for saving screen captures and pasting them when sending those emails to Clearwire asking them what's the story with their speeds(and they usually don't respond!!).
Oh, and make sure you include the date and time on the screen capture graphic.

By the way I switched to a new ISP recently. The speed is supposed to be about the same(as what Clearwire advertise). But when I took a screen capture of the new ISPs speeds, it's about 6 times faster. Unbelieveable, the contrast!

I find the speedtest on this site very good during the day and the afternoon and gives me roughly what I would expect to get on NTL and Eircom connections I have, but in the evening some days but not all I find sometimes this site gives me much slower figures than I would expect, I can tell these are inaccurate results as other speed tests seem to give me similar results no matter what.

The acid test, which is much more reliable and far better than any speed test could ever do is of course is downloading a large file from somewhere with lots of bandwidth, of which I can download at a large speed but get only 1/5th of that on this speedtest.

That may have been crapwire trying to stop you checking the speeds. I have kept a load of records that I have done on this site. I have only good things to say about this site, a few reasons are. The forum is a great place for info on what ISP is a good choice or in clearwires case who's bad, they are an independent website...so they have no hidden motives with any ISP, they can help if you have a problem with your ISP. I had clearwire saying that the speed tests that I did here were not reliable (even though there was ten differnet tests at different times and different days, which is a good variation) and I emailed isptest's customer services and forwarded the email clearwire sent me and they replied by saying that (after I was threating to take clearwire to comreg) they would back me up if it came to it.
This is a great site and I hope all Irish people who have broadband (even if they dont have problems) to come on here and tell everyone there experiance.

Which ISP are you using?

Our connectivity does not change between daytime and night time, so I don't see how you can blame us if you are getting slower speeds
