I wholeheartedly agree. I signed up for 2MB, and speed is regularly down around 100 - 150kbs (if I'm lucky), not even 1/10 of what was promised. Have sent 3 e-mails, none of which were replied to, and rung at least 6 times, most of the time getting through to the UK. They take a message, and SALES ring back, telling me to ring the tech support no. And it starts again!

A total disgrace of an ISP

I moved house a month ago so I rang to let them know that Id be cancelling the subscription.
The guy on the phone gave me his name, said I wouldnt be charged the early cancellation fee
of 120 euro, and that all I had to do was send back the modem and they would cancel for me.
I sent back the modem, they charged me for another month, then they charged me the 120 euro
cancellation fee! Its not a proper business they're running. They're all about ripping people off.

I think your going to have some trouble cancelling early.

They have a few different phone numbers to call. One of them is free phone, but
when you call it they nearly always tell you to ring a different number that you
have to pay for. Whats the point in having the free phone line if you cant use it?

Hey game4it70, everything thats happening to you has happened to me already.
But the worst is still to come Im afraid. If you try to cancel early, be careful or
you'll get screwed.

By the way I switched to Eircom and their the best of the lot for consistant
bandwidth, quality of service and ping.

Ive the 2Mb package. Its extremely consistant at 1.75Mb. Upload isnt quite as
steady but it hovers around the 200kb mark. There just seems to be less issues
with eircom. Its a more professional business. The bill will include line rental and
broadband. I dont have the phone myself cause Id never use it with the mobile
and all.

You can use the free phone line if you are making a sales enquiry also the email address is free and these usually get dealt with the same day they arrive also if you ring clearwire up and ask the guy thats on the other end of the line to call you back he will have no problems doing so.

that's the beauty of it.. they tell you that to get you off their back but then won't just cancel they will haunt you for weeks saying that "Our engineers will try to fix your issue in the next 3 days" "if that doesn't work there won't be no cancelation fee" but they are full of it.. they will do whatever it takes and use all the possible excuses...
i say get the form send the modem back call the bank stop payment... that's it
there is no collections agency nothing like that cuz LEGALY you the contract is VOID since they forget to tell you about it before you get the service.

Default clearwire are scum

me and the missus moved from swords to balbriggan, emailed clearwire to tell them, got no reply, they charged us for another month, cancelled the direct debit which they misteriously managed to reopen(apparently according to the bank we signed a form to reopen it?),charged us for another month, then said send us back the modem and they would refund us,then they rang back saying they just the modem back and they werent going to refund us,that company are scum and id say steer clear of them.
