I don't work for them but here in D6 the service is great! 99% service is my normal score when I test it, NOT like the bad old days with IBB when it was often less than my original dial-up at 14.4 bits per sec!!!

Yes if you have 3Mb or 6mb with them, it will be doubled at
no extra cost. If you 1Mb, it will stay the same.
Finally 12Mb for €40 a month. Not bad considering
it's over a €100 a month with eircom

Maybe in Dublin they can live up to their promises, but in other parts of the country the really can't. I wouldn't trust them after what I have gone through and what alot of people are still having to deal with here in Cork and other less developed areas.

10Mb - 12Mb savage, maybe they upgraded their lines in cork before they do dublin, as far as i know Dublin will be seeing these speeds in june. New customers will get the speeds first to attract them of course.

UPC rang me trying to sell their new fibre fed broadband.

If you plumb for the 6 meg it will be doubled to 12 meg on June 1st.

Not bad for 40 Euro.

Happy days.

Can anyone advise me on this? I'm not IT savvy...

We have 3MB NTL through a wireless router. Would that router be able to cope with the increased speeds? It says it's a 54MBps, so I'm assuming it would?

Yes no problem.

Your 3Meg is actually 3MBps not 3 Megabyte so your broadband has a long long way to go b4 ever taxing that router. The router only broadcasts the data from itself to your pc at 56Mbps. The data only gets to the router at 3Mbps.......slowwwww

Dec.

HI. NTL/UPC/Chorus have revised their prices. The website is currently wrong.

The 6Meg (formally 3Meg) is 40 Euro per month.

The original 6 Meg (which will be 12 Meg soon) is approx 56 Euro. (this includes a phone also which is neat. cancel Eircom land line at 24Euro per month.

Regards,

Dec.

YOu people make me sick ...... really. Flaunting your high speeds for a low cost........... well guess what?

I live in an area where i have BT (NTL not available) and I was very lucky to rcently have a drop in my sppeds and a nice price increase to boot.

So dont think you NTL customers get all the fun.....

Seriously though my connection quality is 2% at the moment and I am getting lag trying to type this.....I guess a game of CS is off the cards tonight.

I had NTL for years in D12 and it was an amazing service.

Bitter Bitter Bitter

Default I ordered ntl today

I needed a decent broadband for gaming on the xbox 360, and after being with clearwire for a year and a half, and now me da bought ibb, im just gonna pay the extra cash and get ntl in without the phone line. Its the ultra broadband of 12MBps and its only €46, thats not bad. Now I have to wait till the seventh of may to get it installed. Does anyone know when you book it that the box you can tick for (if there is an earlier appoinment we will call you) do they ever do this or is it just for show...here's praying that the next week or so flies in.

Default Ntl Broadband

I've just switched from Eircom package with a 2 Mbps Dl, which was ok but not great. I've taken the NTL Ultra with phone line and current dl of 6 Mbps. This is due to increase to 12 Mbps in the Summer.
I'm in D14. The guy came out on Saturday morning and the changeover made with a Netgear Wireless Router.
After an initial issue over my browser not connnecting and NTL service as usual woeful, the system kicked in and I have too say ITS GOOD. Very good value - First 2 months half price and all equipment free. RECOMMENDED.
