Default java problem

hi , have the latest java software installed but when I go into websites the dialogue box remains blank ie: chat room/ speedtest window.anyone any ideas have the computer 2 years (dell dimension8400) never happened before cheers

Check that you don't have older versions installed and that your browser cache has been cleared

Hi Celtictiger

You should uninstall all versions of Java, reboot the computer and then reinstall the latest version. If this doesn't work then uninstall again but use Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all traces before reinstalling Java.

Hi,
Uninstall the older version. Then download the full file and install manually. It may fix the problem.
