Question What kind of rig do you use?

What kind of setup do you use?

Are you using a "normal" off the shelf pc or something really beefy with loads of RAM and all sorts of goodies?

iMac G5 with running OSX Tiger 10.4.4, 512 MB DDr SDRAM. No need for Virus protection, got fed up running anti-virus software everyday on a PC. Got the Mac in Nov 2004 and have not looked back. Broadband connection from Irish Broadband Ripwave. (I reckon I'm their only happy customer!!)

Well the more apple's market share goes up the more they will be targeted, and at the moment their market share is going up quickly.

back to the point of this thread!

i used to have a gateway computer, back when 1ghz was the fastest thing around. now the only originalparts are the case and the dvd drive. rebuilt it my self

now i run a athlon xp 2400+, asroc mobo, 256mb ddr ram (soon to be upgraded) 300w power supply, radoen 9600xt 256 mb graphics, 16x dvd drive, philips cd burner. 40gb hard drive(soon to be upgraded), with win xp pro.

my advise, build it uour self, its cheaper and easier than u think.

mmm i get by, games really show up the lack of memory, like when i got far cry i had to spend ages tweaking all the settings, i'll upgrade my memory soon i'd say, its the most cost effective and easiest upgrade you can do.
