Hi Folks. I've been asked to research a laptop for someone and this I can do. The budget is circa €800 I think. Generally speaking - and NO, as yet I don't exactly know what he intends to use it for so the actual spec is very hazy to say the least - are ther any models that I should (a) definitely consider and (b) definitely avoid. I have already established that a Laptop is required and not a PC

I have always bought from Dell and have (so far) always been happy with the product and service. Prices seem to have dropped through the floor compared to even a few years ago. On www.dell.ie click on "Dell Outlet" where they sell out cancelled orders etc. you may find a bargain.

i have a hp lapy and its sweet altough it cost me 1100
