cannot connect to wireless network

Hi all, having a problem conecting a new laptop to our eircom broadband access point. we currently have 3 laptops successfully connected and all working fine. We have just got another laptop it is an NEC and has an 802.11g card integrated. The problem is when we go to connect to network it is showing up a selection of networks that are in other offices in our building but it is not showing our eircom network. The weird thing is it is seeing another companies eircom network. Anyone come across this before or have any suggestions.
