Have brand new broadband connection. Cant seem to pick up steady signal. Yesterday during tests all worked fine now " can't find server." Yet all else seems to be working.

Hi Peter -
What modem / router are you using?

I have been having a problem, on and off, with 3 Netgear (!) routers I have.

I have found a workaround for the loss of synch I kept experiencing when the connection was lost, due say, to a power outage.

Router is a wireless modem DG 834GT, and the problem usually manifested itself as an inability to "lock on" to the network after (any) upset to the signal. At first I had no idea whether it was a line, modem, PC or ISp fault... Frustrated dosen't even get close!
But I eventually, after some months and many many fruitless calls to ISP and Netgear, found that the issue could be resolved by disabling the wireless part of the modem before attempting to connect. Re-enabling wireless once cnxn was established caused no problems.

Netgear gave me no hints here - I had to find this out on my sweeney.

Let me know if this is something akin to your problem.
