Default digiweb gone to the dogs AGAIN!

hey all.
i'm on the 3meg metro service.

i've had lots of probs with them before but also some very good service(alas mainly bad).
for the last few days its being getting worse.
started with the odd lag spike.
then they where more frequent.
then web pages started to slow down when loading.
then web browser would timeout.
now its disconnecting and i have to manually put in the "initial can frequency" myself for it to sync up.
here are my last few speedtests

Hi

It is good to see that someone else is having issues with the Digiweb Metro 3mb service. I see from the connection speeds you show that there may be an issue there, which is more than likely at their end not yours. However if you are also using the phone service are you having problems when you try to call someone and if so what happens, as I am and the company don't seem to want to get to the bottom of it. Mind me asking what Metro service area are you in.

Thanks for that. However looking at the speeds recorded they in most cases are well below the 2.75-2.93 average speeds for the Metro 3mb package. I live in the Naas area and these are the average speeds I get there. It might be worth calling or emailing their support team to do a modem reset from their end, as you will see average speeds improve after that whatever they can do that we can't. Worth a shot.

hi cunnijo.
my average speed for metro is about 2.8 upwards when its working at any time of the day.
i've had many useless dealings with there so called support. they always say its fine on there end (absolute cr@p).had engineers out to swap modem.it worked for a day and then back to useless.
was dealin with a guy up the ladder a bit and after 2 months of giving out and complaining to them/him he at long last admitted there was a fault. LOL got a mail from him saying "they where aware of a fault and it would be fixed in a while but couldn't give a definate date"
no that is as helpful as a kick in the groin.
sorry 4 the rant but a cant face as this cr@p with them again.
regards keith

p.s i hope yours is back working

I agree with you with regard to the so called support that they provide. I think that they do not seem to know their own system at all. Everytime you contact them you seem to get someone different and the whole thing starts again. However if you can get a contact name there it is half the battle, as te or she will deal with your case. With regard to engineers I have had them out at least twice and had the modem changed on each occasion. They even changed the radio on the roof on the last visit. At least the last engineer could understand the issue but could not understand why it could not be sorted from Dundalk, when the issue was at their end.
Although my issue is with their phone service and not the broadband I can understand your frustration with their so called support. Maybe a formal complaint to their complaints section or even higher may get some positive action (complaints@digiweb.ie). They have to follow it up and reply to you. I am considering it, as my issue is still not sorted.

John

hi again.
just tested speed and only got 1.5 download on there test.so i will do a few more and send them to support when asked.
know doubt they will say the usual "we will put you on monitor for 48 hrs" and i say "that has been done before and does not fix my problem"
hehe then they say" your signal looks fine from our end"
at this stage i bite my tongue as i want it fixed but i want to win the lotto also so i'm a dreamer! (more chance lotto).
so i'm gonna ring them soon after i a few more tests. i will keep you posted.

regards keith.

p.s i never bothered with the phone service.

haha i wasnt far off the mark this is what was said when i rang

the usual cr@p was said "we will put you on monitor for 24hs" (never find anything)

"blaming trees blocking line of sight" (yeah its funny that trees can move as in good 1 day bad another)

"it looks fine on our side" (haha what side are they on?)

"i will ring you back tomorrow at this time" (no breath holding from me)

well all i can say is "i'm shocked"
actually got a call back from a guy i was dealing with in support.
they can see the fluctuations in my signal. e reckons trees are blocking my line of sight. hehe still blaming those poor trees that plant themselves in my way one day and move another.
i have to wait till late next week for a service call.not happy about the wait.by then this will be about 2 weeks of this cr@p but at least the admit there is a fault. (took week last time for them to admit)

will keep you all informed.
regards keith.

Keith

How did it go with the engineer? Are you finally sorted? It seems to be my turn to see a major drop in quality of service. I am literally getting DL speeds below 500K at times, especially in the evening when I used to get speeds nearer to 2.9 meg.. Contacted support and sent him screenshots of the speedtests. He suggested I try another PC or laptop to see if it happens with them. It does. Now my issue is if a service call is arranged I could be charged for it if their tests does not find the issue. Problem is they only work up to 6pm and it is after that the problems start. Also note they do not like speedtest results form this site, as they claim they are not accurate.

John
