i have been with digiweb for 9months now, when i got it 1st i was 2.5 ratio now its gone up to 3.5 ratio, now the speed has gone downhill, they phone service never works, the upload speed is crap, download has gone downhill, and im thinking of canceling from the service and going with IBB, for less the price and more the speed and extras, any1 in carlow town have either of these services that would like to comment on them, iv got metro service.

iv just emailed them, after speeking to the lame ass support guy at 8pm today, heres my email
Quote:
Account number: xxxxxxxx
Hello, after speeking to the support person today and complaining about my poor speeds i have being having, i have included a record of my speed tests before and after the support person configured my service(txt & exel), the service is still not up to standard, and i am considering in canceling the service shortly unless you can upgrade my account or arrange somthing with me, now i have being approached by irishbroadband in my area and they are offering the same package i have with digiweb for less the price and a faster upload speed and unlimited download rates, now i will be deciding on what service i will go with after your responce, if theres anyway you can match this without upgrading to the next pactage- maybe upgrade my upload?.
Regards
me
i cant understand how they are not able to monitor my service but they are able to send out loads of these emails to me...iv received 5 in 3 weeks from them now.
Also they are able to offer a 10gig addon at €5.99 but are not able to add an extra 1mb to my upload speed and im offered them money??? any1 having **** like this? raging here,

Reason: wana show a pic
hate 2 say this but its pointless with them.
had so many mails with level 2 tech(hehe level 2 is useless) and actually got a mail saying that they knew there was a prob(about 6-8weeks to get this) but not able to say when it could be fixed.there words where "
We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it.
We hope to have it done in the next while but we don’t have a definite date"
not really helpfull imo but maybe i'm just greedy to expect a decent% o a serivce
i think if you pay hard earned money for a service you should get 100%... if not they should be removed, because it is in a way faulse advertising... selling 3mb pactages and u only get 412kb DL notting compaired to whats offered, well they better reply by tomorrow because i would have canceled the service at 830pm only IBB were closed, so ill ring them tomorrow and check there plans with operator and prices... then digiweb will get my notice- i can celcel anytime "from what i was told" because im signed up 9 months, 6 month contract
i hope ur right about being able to cancel ur contract.
i'm not in that position yet.set fightin clearwire for same type of cr@p.
my only advice is DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY!
ANY FIX OF UR SERVICE IS ONLY A TEMP FIX AS WHEN U PAY UR NEXT BILL UR SERVICE DEGRADES AGAIN! THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES!
this is a 5 meg contract with 512kb upload, i think digiweb are an improving service and its pretty reasonable speed considering im in the countryside of carlow_ 4437kbs, download, 489kbs upload and a 48ms ping

yes, this is improved now, and soon should be much better for all.
they have opened a new sector for the carlow, yes It has improved I tested it last night and my average download was 2.9 mbps peaked at 4.2 for maybe 5 seconds. The problem is that it's up and down like crazy no constant speed at all. so If I'm getting 3mbps that's acceptable is it? to me it is not. If I'm paying for 5mbps then I expect no less than 4.5. constant speeds. not more like 3mbps and that's being good to Digiweb. I have no doubts that it will improve some day. But for me that's it with Digiweb Tried and tested and stuck with it for as long as I could. As long as providers advertise up to, well then that is a licence to offer 1mbps and say it's "contention" that, "we advertise up to". Contention is Ireland's broadband providers favourite word!!! I think it's high time the wast of time com reg step in and stop the broadband rip off!!!

I can agree with you about contention as favorite word here in Ireland. As you can probably see (I know my english is not great) I'm not Irish what makes me even more unsatisfied with broadband here then you can imagine.
The only thing which I said about Digiweb in Carlow is that there are people really working on this issue and you can already see the difference. It's only beginning.
As I can see while googling you have not too many options there in Carlow, so you can choose "sh*** local provider" or wait until Digiweb will resolve their problem there.
Ahh.. you can choose IBB (are they in Carlow??), but even if it works fine now will not be like that forever. and if your IBB goes crap you can only dream that someone will take care of it.
