Thumbs up Digiweb - Got 4Mb DSL Pro? Thumbs up from me

I've read about people having varied problems with Digiweb, but so far, I've found them to be only stable, reliable and helpful.

The net connection is sweet, shared between me, my two housemates and GF, and we all game over it, getting great results!

Though, I hope I haven't shot myself in the foot with this thread posting, so .....

"At time of writing ..."

There.

Can slam05 not realize that people do complain for a reason, and complaining on the internet forums is the only place where people will listen. It's the only place where you can talk about it with other subscribers! It's not a vendetta to get digiweb. But there is serious problems with this company, and mostly their appalling attitude to customers, it's absolutely outrageous, and needs to be addressed. I hope your service slam05 continues to operate as good as it is now, But try realize that other people ARE having problems. I have had it with digiweb. I need not say anymore about that, I have posted many times about the issues I am having! You are on metro you say? Well it depends on the area you are in and how many people that have been signed up to use that basestation and how much bandwidth is available and how many are using it at that time and so on. DSL is a totally different technology which ningaholic is on. By the way Ninjaholic do you really think that paying so much extra from 3mb to 4mb is worth it when really you only are getting an extra 500k? Seems crazy to me. But if you are happy that's what counts. No offence intended!

Since around April, the time I changed from BT to Digiweb's 3Mb DSL, I have had a very consistent connection regardless of the time of day or night. If I run the speed test here using a wired connection to the router with no other transfers taking place, I usually always get 2.62Mbps down and ~320kbps up. At this time of writing, I got 2.62Mbps down and 323kbps up. Compare this to my previous "3Mb" DSL provider Quality of Service is usually 99% and I have so far yet to see it fall below 90% (with no transfers taking place).

I have used their support a few times for a few queries and so far despite all the support issues I’ve heard about their wireless, I’ve at least found their DSL support polite and helpful and usually always get through with no more than 5 minutes on hold.

The only drawback I found with their service is the way they measure usage (past 30 days instead of from month start), but usually I seldom get near the 40GB allowance and so have not exceeded it.

You are very lucky Sean, and with luck it will continue. As for Carlow metro users, I think there is nothing to do but wait until they add extra capacity to the basestation! But I'm not waiting. I'm not spending €60.00 pm while they arse around. I hope BT is as good as it was before. As I said I didn't have any problems with them at all. Digiweb was cheaper, were good in the beginning, now they are beyond a joke!

None taken Mad Lad ^^

Well, the cost is split between me, my gf, and my two flatmates, all gamers. So it's not really costing us a lot. Plus so far, our downloads have been constantly good, and our gaming pings are stable and low, so thus far all 4 of us are really happy with the line we've got, despite the huge price jump.

Primarily the reason we invested in our line was because of the up speed. As gamers, we'll have 4 computers on the net at once, mostly gaming on the save servers, so we'll need the outgoing speed to be as high as possible, and that's the best we could get in our area from among all of our available suppliers. And so far (touch wood) Digiweb have left us noting to complain about.

I now feel like I've been teasing you guys with our fine connection!! Rest assured that that's not my intention!

Yeah yeah ninjaholic rub it in why don't ye! :-) I'm glad someone is happy with their broadband. I have had a very hard time between Digiweb and Bt. Hope it continues for ye anyways! I don't think I could get the 5mb in castledermot anyway. I think the max is 3mb. Maybe digiweb have their own equipment in your exchange?
