Whats peoples experiance with metro and ps3s

Hi,

I'm wondering how people are finding using the metro service with PS3's.

I'm having some problems. My setup is metro home thru a thomson thg520 cable modem and a D-link DI-524 wireless router.

I'm able to get a NAT 2 connection on the PS3 so everything should be hunky dory but I find download speeds very slow (can't even watch a you tube video without it stopping every 2 seconds!) and I'm suffering from a bit of lag in some games.

I've tried everything I can think of to improve the situation. I've gone wired cause I thought the signal from the router might be to weak, setup a static IP and opened every port on the router that I've read I should and even put the PS3 on th DMZ setting on the router. Still no joy.

I then bypassed the router and plugged the cable modem directly into the PS3 thinking that my router was the problem and still the download speeds are awfully slow!?!?!?

So how is anyone else thats using this service with the PS3 finding it? And does anyone have any idea what my problem might be?

I think I'll get onto digiweb about this too but I won't be holding my breath as they're customer service leaves alot to be desired!!!

In response to you generally Digiweb's support staff are generally helpful and will try to sort your problem from their end. If they cannot sort it remotely then they will send out an engineer. However before you do reset the modem and antenna by disconnecting both from the mains. This sometimes usually sorts the problem. If you have already done this and it hasn't worked then contact them on their 1890 support number.

In relation to routers Digiweb prefer if your PS3 or PC is directly linked to the Thompson modem, especially when you contact them, as they will try to dissuade you from using them.

Hopefuly this will go somewhat to sorting your issues.
