Default ICE meltdown?

Anyone having bother with these guys? As far as I can make out I am not the only one. 3 months of agony now, and little or no reaction from them.

Angry Yes, ICE is melting

I live in Carlow and I am with ICE for nearly a year. In these months, last 7 ( SEVEN !!!!!!!) my service is crap! It started on 19-th of december last year and still not working properly.Every two weeks a tehnician is coming to my house, change the radio with a new one, and still not working. It looks like the guys who suppose to manage and mantain the base station for Carlow-Tullow,sucks! They do a s*** job. My service is a lottery, and it works in waves: it comes and go all the time. Nobody knows why. So I decided to find another provider. I tried in the last 3 years all wireless providers for Carlow, and now I'm thinking to go with UPC. Any sugestions? Recomandations? How are they? Anyone? The bottom line is STAY AWAY FROM ICE !!!!

Which part of Carlow are you in?

Do you have the option of taking fixed line DSL?

For Administrator

I live nearby KFC. I think I can get fixed line, but my house never been connected to the phone line, and get it connected it will cost me too much, and is the line rental which I try to avoid. How about Irish BB? Are they any good?

Hi

You ask if IBB are good? Better read through the entries on this forum about them for your reply and then decide. There are other providers in the Carlow area that I'm sure provide fixed wireless services if you prefer not to go the DSL route. Digiweb is one of them. Their Metro service is available there and according to their website there are some nice improvements on the way. Worth a look.

Im having a nightmare with ICE, as is EVERYONE who i know of who has broadband from them. The only answer is complain to comreg and see what happens, but you might as well just use a carrier pidgeon.

A quick search for happy customers of ICe turned up none but it did turn up this.

Ice Broadband steadily becoming even more terrible - Page 54 - boards.ie

I've been with ICE 18 months now. All was fine until 2 months ago when speed and connectivity became a 'scarlet pimpernel' (now you see it, now you don't).
Numerous emails and phone calls and have only had a tech out here once, to no avail!
Switched to BT today so will see how it goes.

Check to see what terms & conditions you signed up to and ensure that there are no penalties. You are within your rights to cancel the direct debit to them but you must also tell them of your intention to do so. It might make them take notice and do something. You shouldn't be paying for something that is not as described or close to it.

Are ICE the only ISP serving your area? If not go to someone else.

Good luck with it
