Default DigiWeb Wireless in Dublin

Hello all!

I have moved from Irish Broadband (muck I'll say it again muck) to clearwire (started off great but slowly made its own name in the muck stakes) and am currently thinking of moving to digiweb metro wireless.

I want to hear from anyone who has this service in Dublin and their opionions please. I really want to know do they block their p2p ports.

Anyone who has any questions concerning my experiences with Irish BB or Clearwire feel free to ask as I feel like a good rant!

Geographically, amazingly enough, my back wall is about 25 feet from 2FM and the rest of the RTE plot. I cannot get any (A)DSL services through the phone line as my little patch of road has not been covered yet and the Nutley exchange is full apparently. Hmm I'm in the industry and Eircom via HuaWei have been promising that this will be rectified April 2005. Still waiting.

Thanks

We've got Digiweb in the office and as far as I know they don't block any ports.. Our firewall would be a different matter

Nice one for that thanks.
It's encouraging that ye who provide the ISP test are using DigiWeb!

I've signed up and am in a queue for the line of sight test. We'll see what happens. Clearwire tech support have been good to me so far today but if the service is not there the tech support guy can't invent more bandwidth for me!

Yes I like digiweb

There are no real restrictions on what/where you go online well none that Ive come across and Iv been to and been doing the darkest things ever

The only thing is the traffic quota which I will not go into

Been through the loop with other providers. Digiweb is, so far, very good. Consistent 2.9Mb/450KB on their 3MB package.

I use digiweb metro, only problem i had was last weekend when it was a little stormy, i had very low download speeds, but id imagine that was due to weather conditions.
This rumour of port blocking is interesting though because when i use utorrent it runs a port test and always says the port is not open and im not quite an experienced enough pc person to fix it.
As for the traffic quota, it says 30gb per month, so i assumed i could download 30gb and start of next month it would be reset. It doesnt work that way. If you decide to download alot e.g 5GB on a certain day, evn if its near the end of the month, you wont get that 5GB back off your quota untill 30 days later. so its a kind of ongoing thing. Also they only warn your near your limit once you've crossed it, which can be a little dodgy at times.
But overall, id recommend them, good service, reliable so far and good value

Finally someone can relate

It sucks basically if hit 30 it rolls back a gb

And dont go near torents with it caus your upload using torrents is accounted for on their quota
