Could anyone help me by giving me there opinion on the performance of the phone service provided by Digiweb metro. Is it as good as a land line? Thanks

Default Works perfectly

Hi. I've had metro lite now for 6 months. I kept my Eircom land line in tandem for a week then cancled Eircom. The quality of the metro line is excellent.

Theres a few minor differences to landline.

a) You have to dial your local area code before the number. (Who cares ?)

b) The ringing tone (when you are calling another phone) is the international standard long beep followed by a long beep. This tone on Eircom is the Engaged tone. (Confused the wife, she kept haning up.)

c) You cant be exdirectory.

d) You can port your existing no. for 50 Euro only on the dearer metro packages and only after three months. You have to keep both lines active.
Expensive.

Otherwise its perfect.

Regards,

Declan

Default What Type of phone can be used on Metro

Thanks for your reply, very helpful. Could you please tell me if you can use a standard phone or does it have to be a voice over internet phone? If it is a standard phone I take it you can plug in standard wireless phone bases? Thanks

Hi,
Standard phone work fine, and yes that also means a standard wireless phone with base station also.
I've been using the service for a while now without any problems.
