I still have heard nothing from Digiweb in relation to this problem. Is anyone having the same problem from the carlow area?

jesus- i have the 3mb pack- 512kb upload- and €35 a month- but my download speed is always around my upload is not too good for what i need- so i rang them up- the said to upgrade to 5mb and 512kb- when i explained the upload is too slow for me- they said what did i need- i said 1/2mb upload and the sales rep said- well on my system it says they can offer 1mb upload on that and only that pack- that was only after i said i might change to another isp- corrupt or what!! so i guess if u ring and complain enough or say ur moving isp's they will listen.

useless crap! I rang Digiweb tech support, and I must say they are a disgrace!!! So my advice to anyone is Avoid digiweb! They way they spoke to me, I was shocked. This is a company that is supposed to be very customer focused. They treated me like crap, The lad which I can't name, even started to raise his voice at me. And they keep trying to sing the contention tune to me. Ye see the speeds I'm getting. Now does anyone think that contention is the cause? 60 euros a month for 5mb and getting 500k - 3mb max. Am I wrong to think that Digi-sorry- Dodgyweb is a totally crap service? I will ring the hed man of customer services tomorrow. That will be the last thing for me to do. I don't want to get rid of Digiweb, All I want Is the 5mb that I'm paying 60euros per month for. Is that really too much to ask? What can I do now? Nothing really. But bad news travels fast, very fast. I will let ye know what happens tomorrow.

man i cant beleave that download speed- and ur paying for 5mb? feck- has it been long like that- if so- it should have being fixed by now, but thats not the excuse for slow speeds- they shouldnt offer a service if they cant keepup and keep customers happy... yes the operators can be ignorant/sneaky- they will say anything to get u off the phone... these people shouldnt be allowed to sell- u know when it says they may record ur call for training purposes- well thats not allowed, if they can do it ill be doing it next time when i get a fecker on the phone that just wants to hangup and stick the phone up his ass- i got silent recoder- (no beep)

was talking to a guy in the support area- and he suggested i should move up to a business plan- instead of a home package- so i went to the 4mb download and 1mb upload- 40gig traffic...
its been great so far- cost me €54.99 think ill stay with it.

faster than it has been at this time of night in a long time, Maybe evryone using the Carlow basestation are watching the rugby :-) But for a 5m package at 60 euros a month it's still NOT GOOD ENOUGH DIGIWEB!

Test from the Galway server.

Since contacting customer services yesterday I still have heard nothing back. Appalling, And extremely un profesional!!! I am outraged at the way I have been treated!!!

as usual crap speed for the 5mb package. I have orderd EsatBT's 3mb today. So it will take a few days. BYE Bye Dodgyweb. They still won't admit there is a problem. So I cant take the agro anymore. My advice which ye have all heard before, Is to avoid Digiweb. Don't say you were not warned!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least EsatBT's 3mb worked and never fell below 2.8mb! So I hope things haven't changed.

Mad Dog - You've been on here for the last month giving out that your paying 59.95 for a 5M servivce and your only getting about 2.5-3M.....and After all that now you're going to get 3M from BT and your going to pay €56 for it!!!! No offence mate but thats just dumb.
(and clearly you havent read the threads about BT!!!)

Should have pointed out - i have a 3M package from Digiweb and get 2.8-2.9, very happy with it. and uploads of around 480.

You said earlier in the thread you use Limewire - my advise to you is get rid of that rather than your provider. There is a strong possibility that Might have something to do with your speed.

Hi Slam05, You sound like a faithful employee of Digiwebs :-). If you can find reference to where I said I use limewire, Then please post a link here to Remind me, As I can't remember posting that I did, However I could be wrong! Anyway If you looked at all the speedtests I posted you will see that 3mb is rare for me. Mostly 1-1.5mb is all I'm getting. I have been using the interned for a long time now to know the speeds that I'm getting, And how to test properly. I never had problems with EsatBT's 3mb Dsl. Digiweb Seem to think the speeds I'm getting are acceptable. And I refuse to accept this!!! If they admit to a problem, Then you see, They will have to fix the problem. Where as if they deny it , Then they don't! To them I'm just a customer, And as they know, Another poor sole will sign up. So why bother to fix the problem when They know that I will just unsubscribe to their service, and someone else sign up! If you are getting the speeds you say, Then that's good for you, Are you on Metro, Using the Carlow base station? Or are you using DSL? With your upload speed as you say at around 480k then I'm sure you are on Wireless?. Anyway I'm not a fool I know what speeds I'm getting So don't tell me to stop using Limewire rather than get rid Digiweb thank you very much!!!

Here is a speed test for now Is this really acceptable Slam05 Or am I using Limewire to do the speedtest??? :-)

Well said Mad Lad. From my dealings with you certain questions have been answered with regard to Digiweb and the way they treat their paying customers. No offense to slam05. He/she must be close to one of the Metro base stations in order to be able to get 2.8-2.9MB DL speeds. I myself admit that I am close to one and I too get these speeds again (I have the Metro 3MB service). However from mid-July to early September my DL speeds were way below 1.5MB, even as low as 370K and support could not explain it despite several emails and phone calls to and fro. They even gave me the option to cancel without penalty if I wished proving the point that the company are very hesitant to admit when there could be problems with the system. I must also stress that after constantly getting on to them over a 4 month period earlier this year it made them admit that there was an issue with their phone service and that I was not the only person affected and they seemed to be able to get it sorted. Pity they could not do the same when it comes to their higher end Metro broadband service for customers in certain parts of the country, Carlow being a prime example from some of the other postings on this forum.

Boggiemanx.

Mad Lad seems to be right about DW and the Carlow region. It seems he is not alone. If you contact them take the name of the support person who deals with your issue and do any follow-ups with him/her only. That way you might get somewhere.

Hi cunnijo. You see tech support won't admit there is a problem. You see the carlow basestation is beyond full capacity, So to admit there is a problem means they have to fix it. Most of their money is tied up in rolling out the new 4g system, So upgrading at the moment seems unlikely! So to me I don't see the point in staying with them paying for 5mb and not getting it. Customer services don't care, so when you cant get anywhere well that means time to go! I mean it's not like I didn't try! My 3mb dsl with esatbt was good, but not saying it is now! it depends on how many have signed up since then. I was the first person on my exchange to get dsl So Eircom said anyways. Pity you can't get more than 3mb in this day and age. At a decent price anyway. First the pressure was on eircon to upgrade, No they are not obliged to upgrade for faster speeds! COMREG get your god damn act together!!!!!Boogiemanx good luck with Digiweb tech support, You will be sorry you ever signed up with digiweb!!!

oh here is a speed test for a laugh lol

This is a speedtest from my Auntie's P.C. from esatbt. And as you can see it's good for a 2mb package! Much better than what I'm getting from digiweb on a 5mb package. So glad to see that esatbt is still good in Castledermot! The upload from esatbt isn't great. But I mostly download and upload isn't important to me! It's not bad for a 2mb connection though with 256 upload!
