Default Just got metro installed

Download speed has varied between 1.8Mb to 2.2Mb supposed to be 3Mb
Upload Speed is between 400K and 600K !!! Not very good as i got it just for the upload speed.
Early days though . I've only got it two hours and its a busy time of day

But what upload speed are you suppoed to be getting?

When you buy BB they only advertise the download speed. The upload speed is always slower unless your on a business package in which case things might be different. Did any of you bother finding out what your supposed to be getting before complaining?

Unhappy Rollercoaster speeds

Hi,

I am on the normal Metro package 3mb download, 512k upload and I have the same problems with regards to the rollercoaster speeds.
According to the speed test on this site I am only getting 34% of my service with a download speed of 984kb and an upload speed of 348kb. These test tend to fluctuate drastically from high to low, mainly low. Now I know that you dont get a 100% on any broadband speed test but 34% is pretty bad. Any ideas why its so bad????? Its killing my Battlefield 2 fun

It could be also that you've reached your cap? When I reached my cap my speed was purpousefully dropped to ISDN levels in order to prevent me downloading any further. I wouldn't have known why I was getting slow speeds until I called and asked. Drop them a line and c what the craic is. Usually my 3MB line is fine and performs fairly well

Will I just upgraded from there previous wireless service to metro and tbh im not one bit happy. Was on last nite and playing on a UK bf2 server and my ping was staying steady between 150-200. Now before on there old wireless i would get a ping of 30-2000. But mostly between 30-70 and that connection was 512kb down and 256kb up. I also ran a few bandwidth tests and at one stage I was getting a better upload speed than download speed. All I can says if things dont improve I will be leaving digiweb at the end of this contract. For a 3mb connection I would expect a ping of 10-20 on a uk server not 10times that. And on download speeds I was gettting 47kbs to max of 80kbs again no better than the old 512kb connection i had.

Talking Digiweb V Irish BB

Hi Guys,
I'm a very satisfied digiweb customer! I was connected nearly two months ago and I have always got an exceptional quaillty of service.I have the 3mb metro in Limerick and my highest result was:- 2006-05-03 22:58:52 down 2.8mps (346 KB/s) up 485 kbps (61 KB/s) 97 % 24 ms 72 ms, and a low of :- 006-04-22 19:18:48 down 2.647 mbps (331 KB/s) Up 485 kbps (61 KB/s) 87 % 28 ms 77 ms.This was the only time I dropped below 95%. my Brother got in the 1Mb breeze connection from Irish BB and so far all he has had is grief. Everytime he has ran the speed test it has never got above 500kps down and 100kps up and averages 42% Quality of service- now you see why I am happy!!!
