Default Digiweb slow???

I recently got the 3mb dsl xtra package from digiweb for 42 euros a month and it performed great on the first day (1st March) with an average d/l speed of 2.45 mbs & around 374 kps upload speed. But in the 2 days since then it has slowed down to nothing.....infact it's slower than dial up at the mo.

The speed test on this site has shown,on average, my d/l speed is 61 kps while my upload speed is a little better at 170 kps.

I pay 42 euros a month for a 3mb line with 384kps upload speed & atleast expect to be able to browse websites at a quick rate without waiting 5 mins for any pictures to download....

I've put in a complaint to their customer support so we'll see what happens next!

ok,

gace digiweb a call & got through, after a reasonable 5 mins wait, to a guy called Kevin who was very friendly & helpful & checked out every option he possib ly could at his end, including resetting the dsl box but to no avail my speeds are still well below par and as a result he said he'll put in a fault report with eircom and will get back to me as soon as they reply.

I guess that's the best I could hope for & with a bit of luck my speeds will be back to normal in the next couple of days.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for the duration of my 6 month contract with digiweb

ok,

now a feel like a bit of a twat.

I've switched from my 7yr old dell laptop with a tiny 10 gb hard drive (which was pretty mmuch full) to my old pentium3 desktop pc & tried connecting to the net & doing some speed tests..

guess what?

itI'm getting speeds of

2.7mbps download & 374 upload...

so the problem all along was my ancient, filled to the brim, laptop.

The funny thign is the digiweb techie suggested it could be the machine yesterday & suggested I try anoth er but I kind of shot down that idea pretty quick.

Now I feel all embarrased.

:?

Anyways,I better take back everything bad I said about Digiweb....so consider this a full retraction.
