EIrcom DSL - how to configure the netopia box I have finally got access to eircom dsl after years of trying. I can now get rid of the ropey wireless BB I get fro IFA Telecom, but I want to do so with minimum disruption.
My current BB provides me an ethernet connection with a fixed IP address. I have this connected to a Linksys wireless router that I really like and for which I have all my PCs & laptops configured for. So for mimimum disruption I woudl like to take a ethernet cable from my netopia box into the back of my linksys box - that way the change is seamless to all my clients. Ideally I woudl like to have a fixed IP address for the linksys box rather than DHCP from netopia. I think this means netopia iss then acting a s a bridge?
Of course the eircom user manuals focus on how to setup the netopia as your wireless router and so are not helpful. Can anyone point to an idiots guide for me that I can use to configure my network as described?
