Default Blinking router

everytime i connect, the router is forever blinking. I am on the home plus packeage from eircom. The lan light blinks, and the wireless blinks. I am also getting terrible results on my tests 600-800kbs/s

blinking router just means its communicating with the internet which is perfectly normal. If you're still worried about this then can you post an imagoe of the task manager/processes and we could pin point what exactly is accessing the internet. Failing this you could install a firewall (other than the built in xp one) which will tell you what programs are accessing the internet.

Also what type of router do you have and is it wireless or wired?
