I see from this article BBC NEWS | Technology | Orange restores broadband serviceon the BBC news site that major network failures are not the forte of Eircom alone.

However, Eircon should take note of the way in which the problem was handled across the water. The problem started on a Monday afternoon and was fixed by 21.00 the following evening.

Now thats what I call technical support.
