Default confused

Hi all ,

I`m new to this broadband game as I have just signed on to Eircom 2Mb Broadband package. Please see results , Is this normal or is there anything I can do to increase the speeds or do I need to contact Eircom

Date Download Speed Upload Speed Qos RTT Maxpause
18/11/2006 17:19 243 kbps (30 KB/s) 64 kbps (8 KB/s) 33 % 26 ms 1074 ms
18/11/2006 17:14 222 kbps (27 KB/s) 69 kbps (9 KB/s) 71 % 23 ms 733 ms
Total Averages:
232 kbps (29 KB/s) 66kbps (9KB/s) 52 % 25 ms 904 ms

Are you running any other software in the background when testing?

Which exchange are you using?

Default connection speed

Thanks for the reply. No I`m pretty sure nothing else is running in the backround. I disabled both windows firewall and all the anti-virus projectionas well.

As regards the exchange I`m living in Drogheda.

It strikes me as a bit odd. Unless the contention is really bad you should be getting better speeds than that.

Have you tried testing at different times of the day?
