Hi all,
I've noticed a marked improvement in my DL rates since the Churchfield Exchange fiasco several weeks ago. Over the last four weeks the dropoff in capacity at night has all but disappeared. Maybe Eircom have bolted on more capacity?
Anyway, I upgraded to 2Mb/256kb and I'm getting 1.7Mb/110kb, which is excellent given my distance from the exchange. My line packed in about two weeks ago, so the local engineer switched about 4000m of my line on to a new, spare line. Big improvement in both voice quality and DSL.
I wonder how long it will last?
Simon.
PS. Eircom's customer service is still poor. Local line guys are great, call centre folks not so good.
