Your upload speed is quite worrying too. It's closer to the 1mbit package (128kbits up). If you're within 1km or even 2km of your exchange, you should be getting much better speeds, being honest.
However, I'm going to suggest you plug your router into your PC via 100mbits Ethernet. The problem with Wireless is that your PC -> Router ping times are slightly more than you'd get with Wired. With Wired you'd generally get less than 1ms. With Wireless it can be 1-2ms (and maybe more, and that's if your PC is right beside the router). That means the "internet" is not be sent to your PC as quickly as it would be via Wired. That can the problem with Wireless, I'm afraid. The question is though, is your Wireless operating so slow that it could be causing your speeds to decline? Try it!
But, unclebill98, don't get me wrong. Your slower connection may NOT be the result of how your PC is connected to your router. It can be various other things, such as distance from the exchange, your exchange, your own phone line, your home's internal telecom wiring, and/or even your own router. Did I leave anything out?
Let us know what your situation is, and the results of switching to Wired (should you do so).
Seifer.
