Default are upgrades automatic?

To those of you who got an upgrade - did you have to actively hassle them for it, or did you just get a note in the post one day that your service had been uplifted?

Just been on to ESAT about crap d/load and u/load times. I've been paying for their 2mb Broadband + service for ages, but they only just noticed today that I'm actually on a 1mb line! Upload crap no matter what!

I think some people had to restart their modem/router for the upgrade to come into effect

Normally the modem will kick in the upgrade automatically - if you were using it at the time, then it should appear as if it lost the DSL sync or it may even restart itself. But don't worry - chances are if you didn't get the upgrade because you DID have to reset the modem, but you didn't realise upgrades had gone ahead, you wouldn't be waiting very long judging by the amount of times I had to reset my modem when I had them

I noticed a speed increase in download to 1.8 Mbps, but upload still sucks at 67 kbps.

That, and some messer up at EsatBT keeps pulling the plug at random times so that I can't load any pages other than what I'm currently connected to. Thankfully AIM still works so I can bitch about it to everyone else...[/list]
