Default Broadband in Ashtown/Dublin 15

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good broadband provider in Ashtown/Dublin 15?

I have had BT for about 18 months now and while the cost has increased, my speeds unfortunately have gone in the opposite direction.

I have the "2MB" package so i get about 1.7Mbps which in itself isn't too bad, but lately the connection quality has been so up and down that I think I need to change. It is perfect for looking at web pages but try and play a game (TF2 in my case) and you see your ping go from 40 - 200 regularly and it is unplayable. I think the problem is in the contention as at off peek times it is fine.

If I was to change to Eircom will I just have the same problem as it is the same line?

Anyone else having trouble in this area?

I dont need a fast connection for games, just a stable one so if anyone has any suggestions I would be delighted to hear them.
