Default BT 2Mb constantly 'dropping'

Anyone else get this problem? I am in North Offaly and am constantly having to switch the router off and on to get connected to the web. Connection to the router is fine, (Zyxel).
Damn annoying!

Default you too eh...

yeah i seem to be having the exact same problem as you my friend! to be honest the service is a complete joke. it goes for about 5-20 minutes and stays up for usually three. what a disgrace! And to add insult to injury, the service itself is rather slow too. i have received about three of those cheap crap modems to no avail. its become so bad i cant even work from home or play online games of any sort! i myself am living in Galway city

Unhappy Bt Droping

My problem is speed. My speed has dropped down from 1.7 to 1.3 over the last few months.

Now they say they are going to upgrade all speeds. If would be better if they would fix the many problems posted on site like this

Default i can see where your coming from...

as i said my broadband goes down a scandalous amount of times (17 times in half an hour for example) but unlike yourself my 2 Mb connection is alright (whenever its up) at usually around 1.5 -1.7. my upload is 100-140 Kb/s ... relatively slow and according to this speed test my quality of service lies between 60% - 80%.
I'm moving to IBB over adsl soon. im sick and tired of this B.S! hopefully i haven't jumped from the frying pan and into the fire!

In your WAN setttings (ZyXEL Router), is your connection set to Nailed or is it Disconnect On Idle (or similar)?

Also it would be of big help if you could post your line stats. Downstream and Upstream SN/Noise Margin and Line Attenuation. You'll find these in the Diagnostics section of your ZyXEL Router.

Also, check out:
Answer

Make sure your equipment is in line with what this support page from BT outlines.

I have a Netgear router and am certain that the problem is not here in my lan. it is the broadband coming in that is the problem. it went down 50 times in 12 hours on one occasion if i remember correctly

Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 2048 Kbps 256 Kbps
Noise Margin 11.1 dB 20.0 dB
Line Attenuation 49.0 dB 27.0 dB
Output Power -0.4 dBm 17.8 dBm

that was according to my BT voyager 210

on the speed test, I get 1.71 download speed, 129kbs up
1.3ms jitter and 95% quality of service which is abnormally good i must say
