I changed the speed test, so you might get more accurate results now anyway

I have the Esat Broadband plus package, and should be getting 2Mb/s but the max with this site's test is 1.5Mb/s which does tally with my downloading earlier. A few hours ago I was getting even less of a throughput.

Damn shame the upload is still only 128Kb/s

My loc is near Donaghmede, belcamp exchange IIRC

It's a pity about the upload, but at least it's a move in the right direction

It's certainly better than nothing, but it feels more like they have increase the download speed but the total overall speed or infastructure is the same. So you can "potentially" get 2Mbs, but more likely you get less.

They need to increase the cap total and at least double the upload speed. Have to wait for Smart Telecom to do that and then the others might follow through!

in lay man's terms..

Reality Sucks! ;-)

Still... up to 6 months ago I could only get 56k dialup at my exchange (even although a friend around the corner had broadband) so I shouldn't really complain.... but I'm so good at it!!

Default Interesting what happend on changeover ....

Like others, I never got any notification ... just heard through the greapevine, but what I did notice was although the download speed went up to 1.72mb, the upload speed was on the day just short of 500k. It suddenly dropped to around 100k (present).

Just sayin' ....... quite happy with IOLBB and glad to have the "2mb" speed.
