Default 3 Mbit Sucked last night in Clonsilla area

On 3 Mbit ESAT BT with that poxy Zyxel modem. Its probably the contention ratios shot to sh1te (40:1?). At about 7 or 8 pm it was like using Dial up. Came back to life around midnight. Will start measuring it this evening to see if it is consistent. Not too far from Clonee exchange (1.5 miles?) so I am dissappointed with this drop off. XBOX 360 no fun

I heard from a local builder that the Clonsilla/Clonee area is going to have the population of Waterford City by 2010... whats that going to do the Clonee Exchange. Any chance Eircom will upgrade their hardware? Yeah, fat chance.

I don't think it was personal to those on the Clonee exchange. I am connected to a rural exchange just outside Cork and experienced the same type of speed fall off last night.

So perhaps it was a system wide problem that BT are staying quiet about or maybe it was an Eircom problem. Don't forget BT are just reselling the Eircom product until [I hope] RegCom force them to allow LLU. Then perhaps we'll see not only better service but better and more consistent speeds.
