Default Sever Slowdown on BT Broadband

I know the Eircom forum have been talking about this issue for a few days now, I even contributed to the thread myself.

However, it must not be forgotten that when Eircon messes up a lot more than just their customers suffer. I was glad when the problem appeared to be fixed yesterday but it has now resurfaced and I wonder -

1. How widespread is the problem, I'm near Cork myself. Perhaps members who are affected could post their locations. If the issue is big enough it should be passed on to the Minister and REGCOM, you never know they might do something.

2. Why does BT TS not appear to know there is a problem and or when it might be repaired? Is this another example akin to the SMART issue where Eircon refuse to pass on information for fear competitors customers may be kept upto date?

Default EsatBT Problems

Howfast I have seen you post and I too am with Bt and have found my download speed have been poor over the last few months. My package is for 2Mb. and for most of the time it has been fine but over the last few months the speeds have been all over the place. from the 1.75 down to no service at all over one weekend had no service at all. yesterday, 0.745 had 1,428Mb and to night .818Mb to night 20.50.

Have you been able to contact TS

Mike

Ellardm

The last time I spoke to TS they did not appear to be aware of any problem and could only offer to log a fault on my phone line with Eircom.

I find the best way to contact TS is to ring them first thing when they open at 09.00am and leave a callback request. They usually call you back within a short while.

BTW I am on the 3MB option and my DL speed has been returned to 2.57Mbps in the last hour.
