Default ESATBT

I ordered ESATBT on august 4th and got a e-mail to confirm my order. There website says you will be up and running in 14days? 15 days later no word or package. I rang them and got through after 45min and they said the order was messed up. I asked why no contact me? " we sent you a letter". They said i had to pay €125 charge, no probs passed me through to sales and told thats wrong no charge....couple of minutes after being on hold, sorry my mistake you have to pay €125. I still was not confident about this, but proceded. Then 2 weeks later again, no sign or phone call, so i rang again...56min later on hold i get through the order will be completed on 28/9/05 21 days later even tho the website says 14days. I sent a letter of complaint and got a reply to contact the complaints staff, but suprise suprise no one was ever in only the answering machine. The i get a call from supervisor and he left a mgs, i rang him back twice adn asked him to ring mu mobile. I was waitning a week, no word so i cancelled and now gone with EIRCOM haha.

Esat BT are well renowned for their rubbish billing system. It took me 3 months to get a free trial set up with them, and to this day I still get threatening letters about non-payment of bills. I used to also get angry phone calls every month threatening to cut off a broadband service I cancelled 5 months ago! I think you made a wise decision, although eircom are a tad on the expensive side, especially considering what you get (8GB cap).

I only have a WO router for a couple of days and the power supply went, so i had to wait a week tog et another. Then i noticed the quality of the line is crap, they say im only on 512KB and i want 1MB so there going to get a engineer to look into it. I had dial up with UTV and never had any probs, so i will see how eirocm treat me and how there service is. I'll prob go with UTV in 6months or so.

Default BT Broadband

I'm running BT Broadband or as my tech friends tell me over xbox live, esat.net. Anyway, I have a wireless router happily running 3 comps and my xbox plugged directly into router/gateway whatever. I had the Broadband Plus option with BT, and since the upgrade, it's been great Not a jot of lag or anything 'orrible. What's even more amazing is that I'm in Mayo and not in Dublin or some other 'urban' center.
